290 Sixth Avenue Building History - by John Oleksak, Registered Architect

The original owner and builder of 290 Sixth Avenue was the Sixth Avenue Minetta Corporation located at 122 East 42nd Street, New York. Construction was completed in 1941. The architect was H.I. Feldman. One copy of the rental advertisement brochure exists to this day. It illustrates a rendering of the entry way and front door of the building with the address of the building as:

2-10 Minetta Street

Following this it says:

"The owners of these premises give assurance to tenants that proper management will prevail at all times. Suitable references will be required of all tenants. The management assures a careful selection of tenancy."
